Are fewer clicks always best?
I was browsing online to purchase some fitness equipment and came across a site which was clean and well designed.
Whilst in the midst of the experience I realised that as the consumer, I had to - and wanted to - click through different pages.
Initially to get more info about the items; but it dawned on me that these extra few clicks were building my trust in the company.
Whilst there is a concerted effort to reduce the clicks users need to take on sites to arrive at their destination, the opportunity for more, should they so wish, is also a valuable part of the experience. Let's not forget that.
